That a five-cent procedural mask should take center stage in our discussions about societal distrust is almost disappointing in its banality… That misinformation about masks that was promulgated in multiple countries wouldn’t have happened without the support of the World Health Organization… Harvard epidemiologist Bill Hanage recently admitted to Ed Yong. “You’re not wearing them [masks] to stop yourself getting infected, but to stop someone else getting infected.” Yes, Dr. Hanage.
